Expansion Series, 2010– 2013: This larger-scaled series is driven by the creation of a bigger field, rather than by a particular symbol, as is usually the case in my work. The images relate to whatever I was exploring internally at the moment. Life events and states of being inform the paintings. Continuing with my stream of consciousness process in a larger format coincides with a shift toward more spacious physical environments that invite a greater freedom of movement. This work is about holding the complexity of life, as an interwoven whole. The mind has to expand in order to embrace greater dimension on the canvas. Keeping the mind open, the whole Gestalt of my inner life is invited in.
